More often than not, tipsters, readers, friends and family of Eater have one question: Where should I eat right now? Restaurant obsessives want to know what’s new, what’s hot, which favorite chef just launched a sophomore effort. And while the Eater 38 is a crucial resource covering old standbys and neighborhood essentials across the city, it is not a chronicle of the “it” places of the moment. Thus, we offer the Eater Heatmap, which will change continually to always highlight where the foodie crowds are flocking to at the moment, all in alphabetical order.
Updates to the Eater Heatmap include Virgil’s Real Barbecue, now open at The Linq Promenade, deep-dish Chicago pizzas at Giordano’s at the Grand Bazaar Shops, Hawaiian import Cinnamon’s Restaurant, Christina Tosi’s Milk Bar at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Marugame Monzo, the insanely popular udon restaurant out of Los Angeles.
SUGARCANE raw bar grill
Executive chef and partner Timon Balloo brings his Miami concept Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill to the Venetian with a menu built around three methods of preparation, using “an open fire grill, raw bar and traditional kitchen.” Specializing in small plates, this sister venture to SushiSamba is already creating a buzz for its whole chicken main dish and their imported Miami favorites, “bacon wrapped dates with linguiça and manchego,” and the “duck & waffle,” created with a “crispy leg confit, duck egg and mustard maple.”
