This month, Chef Timon Balloo and the team at SUGARCANE raw bar grill kick off a new exciting charitable initiative called Canvas, designed to spread awareness for and help fight childhood hunger in America. Every month, Chef Timon is inviting a guest chef to create a unique and inspiring dish using a bowl as his or her blank “canvas.” When you order it, a portion of the proceeds are donated to No Kid Hungry, which connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals.
“I’ve been involved with No Kid Hungry for a long time, so it’s great to be able to partner with them in this new and innovative way,” said Chef Timon. “The Canvas program is a way to bring together amazing chefs to help raise awareness and take action against childhood hunger all over the country.”
We kicked off the Canvas program with Chef Clay Conley, chef and owner of Buccan, Imoto, The Sandwich Shop at Buccan, and Grato. Be sure to stop by the Miami restaurant to try Chef Clay’s featured dish: Florida Snapper with galangal and jalapeño curry.
